The Tzaddik Center is a spiritual and educational project dedicated to revealing the unique spiritual treasures of the Holy City of Tsfat. Tsfat possesses the secret to the world's redemption, but this can only be achieved through tapping into the tradition safeguarded and perpetuated by authentic Jewish sages and leaders—the Tzaddikim. The Center's message is modern, historic and ancient. Its transmission is via multimedia, internet, publications, music and educational seminars.
The driving force behind the Center is the vision of Reb Gedaliah Aharon Kenig, zt"l, and the Breslev Chassidim of Tsfat who are recreating the community paradigm from the golden era of 16th century Tsfat, when the highest mysticism merged with the most practical Judaism. Tsfat was home to the Kabbalah of the Arizal (Rabbi Isaac Luria) and the Shulchan Aruch, the Code of Jewish Law of Rabbi Yosef Karo. The city was filled with visionaries who forever transformed what it meant to be a Jew. At that time, the Tsfat community transmitted a profound light as it awaited imminent redemption of the whole world.
For reasons only Heaven knows, the Arizal suddenly passed away. Hopes were shattered and Tsfat slowly went into a physical and spiritual decline of unprecedented proportion. A series of earthquakes demolished the Old City. The focal point of devastation was the very area where the Arizal's community lived.
The Old City lay in ruins until Reb Gedaliah came in 1967 with his vision to rebuild Tsfat both physically and spiritually in a tradition handed down from the great Chassidic genius, Rebbe Nachman of Breslev. The secret? The redemption of Tsfat's authentic spirituality, which lay dormant for generations, is the key to tikkun olam - repairing the world.
The Center's message is open to anyone since authentic Jewish spirituality benefits and redeems the entire world.
